Game eternally hangs on startup

I was never able to actually play the game. Upon startup, I get to the press any button screen and hit a button. The game begins to load but always hangs around 70%. The screen will go dark, the loading progress stops, but the music and the moving "Sign in" text continue to move. I tried signing in to the feedback page to leave a bug report, only to find out EA claims my email isn't registered for the beta. Its the very same email I got the code on, as well as sign into every EA game with.
