You can check if the crash report in the dxdiag is current by pressing the windows key and typing reliability and run the reliability history , look for recent items listed with a red circle.
tried the game since updating the video driver ?

may I suggest that you change the compatibility of your swtor.exe file to run as Admin aswell as disabling the full screen optimisation setting that is available here.
find your swtor.exe
right click select properties
then select combatability
scroll down tick run admin and just above it disable fullscreen optimisation, click apply/ok and try your game again.
you should now get a pop up when you start the game confirming the run as admin function.
hope this helps

@DBWoodynz Thanks for the suggestion but this did not solve my problem.

@proxos666 The only red circles are when the game stops responding.

If you click on those red circles what are the crash details being listed ?

@proxos666 It just says Star Wars The Old Republic has stopped responding with Windows and was closed. It says for more information check thesecurity and maintenance control panel, but I didn't find anything there.

@proxos666 It starts just fine, and everything works okay. Whenever I go into a cutscene though, it freezes and after a few seconds, stops responding.

@proxos666 I'm sorry, I don't know what CPU temps are.

@Fiesta_Warrior CPUID has a program called HWMonitor (free 3rd party software, not affiliated with EA) that you can use to monitor your temperatures. Overheating could be causing crashes and failures like the one you're experiencing. Unfortunately it might just be a case of your system not being able to handle all aspects of the game.
