Star Wars Battlefront is on the Frostbite 3 engine too is'nt it? I played a bunch of that and don't recall any partial or total loss of sound. Does anyone know if the issue is present in that game?
Certainly plenty of evidence out there that it DID affect some or alot of players. i never played it enough to test it out, but i never lost sound as far as i remember
again if you check my thread http://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/loss-of-sound-on-mass-effect-andromeda/m-p/5987850#M8117
i've also done a lot of checking on this issue across a good cross section of the frostbite 3 engine games and i did find evidence for multiple titles...

Ah ok. I've played almost 300 hours of Battlefront and can't recall any sound issues myself. I loose the narrator in MEA MP all the time but can't recall ever loosing the narrator in a game of BF.
That is entirely dependent on how they did their library calls i suppose to the frostbite engine itself. It may be that the piece of code that put it all together in ME:A was rushed in the 18 month (not 5 years) that they developed ME:A in once they decided the procedural generated game was not going ahead.. etc etc. who knows how hard pushed they were to get this thing put together, so its highly likely that the code that handled all this could have been put together in haste.. and only THEY know the full details about it.
It's just us, the gamers who see the problem as bad as it is.
I don't have any trouble with other games that are using Frostbite engine (BF1, BF3, BF4), just this damn ME:A.
They should have used other more subtle game engine like UE4 or modified Source Engine that used in Titan Fall 2.
