What is going on in game that my players start to drag around the pitch like zombies and missing 10/10 passes?

Why is that in game? Please help

I play Ultimate Team. I'm not lying, it feels like the pace of the team is slowed by 60%, and opponent is flying around the pitch.

What is it, why does it happen, how can I overcome it? Players are with 80 stamina substitutions make no sense.
