FC24: Friend request on child account / Cross play

Hi,

I've read various articles about people having trouble adding a friend in FC24 on XBOX but haven't found any clear answer yet.

My setup is a XBOX X (v10.0.26100.1969), Game Pass Ultimate and latest version of FC24 (v2.0.90.31158). 

I have a Microsoft / XBOX family account for handling my child's account.

I also have an EA account and a child account for my child (perhaps I need another account..... doh!).

I've tried to enable every single setting for my child in the Microsoft Family settings.

EA does not offer this. I even installed the EA app which does not have settings for me nor my child.

I can search for the EA id of our friend, select it but when trying to add I get an error, try again later.

So, has anyone successfully added a friend for their child account?
