Event notifications out of sync with my game

I just started playing The Sims Mobile yesterday, so I’m on my first two sims and I’m only level 7. But today I keep getting event notifications for things I can’t do yet. The first was telling me that I got an heirloom, and I’ve since gotten notifications for something to do with children, party decor that I can’t buy yet, hobby things I can’t buy yet, etc. Every time I restart the app I get something else. It’s really annoying because the pop ups won’t leave the screen so I’m forced to try to play around them, and I’m worried that it’s going to mess up my game for when I actually get to those points. This is happening on both my iPad Air 2 and my iPhone 8+, signed in with Game Center and Twitter. Is there anything I can do about this or do I need to start over?
