I've been trying to download Apex Legends for the past few days, and every time I try, I end up with this exact same error leading to the game not being installed at all.

I'm not sure if it's something wrong with the installer or my computer

sup. got this error message provided in the pic below. I tried to get the chatroom customer service option to work, but it has crapped the bed. I got to 39% one time, then I got this message every time I have tried to re-download the file. I checked my directx12 diagnostic file for which version I am running. It says that it's currently up to date. wat du?

I deleted all of the apex files that were downloaded. now it's giving me this error when I try to do a fresh install/download

Search the following folder for *.exe and then right click and run each of the vcredist files as an administrator before retrying the game.

Origin Games\Apex\__Installer\vc

tried all that. updated my drivers, and deleted the apex folder+contents afterwards, and even moved the download location folder in my hd. then it went back and still gave me the same error. stopped at 39% again.

@moediggity42 @ThatRApollos Just to confirm -  you've followed all the steps at http://bit.ly/OriginVCError?

Can you try a cache clear - then launch Origin with Admin rights and let me know if that works?

yeah. I did the first part, and no success. however, I did try https://youtu.be/QkjS8wApLV8 along with your stuff. I went into the directx folder in apex, and ran that directx executable file (in apex-_installer-redist-directx-DXSETUP) cut everything that isn't an app/application extension(basically, just right click inside the folder, and select sort by type. you'll have only 3 files that you don't need to move pertaining to what I have said) ran the dxsetup, and everything is running smooth.
