I've tried the troubleshooting, still no joy.

 

A couple of points on your previous response:

 

* I was playing the game on Tuesday, I've not been able to connect since the patch.  The only thing to change anywhere on my system in that time is the patch

* A few people on here have reported the same issue (1,066) since the patch.  As have people on the SWBF II forum (https://battlefront-forums.ea.com/categories/multiplayer)

 

Given these problems have been reported since the patch, it looks like the patch has caused the problem, not any change I have made.

 

 

If you're going to stick with the "it's your system" response, then it may be useful if you could tell us what code 1,066 actually translates to in English.  At least then we may be able to look into our own settings beyond the generic troubleshooting.

I've done all of the measures listed in the article Ataashl posted. I was going to contact EA but apparently they only do calls at this point and not the online chat, which I like better tbh. I'm just not going to play that game anymore for awhile. Usually time fixes all issues.

 

A couple of weeks ago I was having lag issues and I contacted EA via online chat and I did the trace route thing and the guy even said "I have an excellent connection". I don't see why this wouldn't be the case now considering it's the same internet and everything else is working great except for multiplayer on BF2.

 

I'm at the point where I must conclude it was something with the solo update entirely. So with that, thank you for your help. I'm just not going to bother with it for quite awhile. -Thanks!

Yes before Solo update game works perfect no problem whit connection,solo update total destruct online connect

@ EA_ Ataashl The only reason I even posted here is because I sincerely enjoy the game...specifically Heroes vs. villains and that is literally pretty much the only area of the game I play. I don't even really care for Galactic assault and the other modes. I do play them if I'm bored with Heroes vs. villains but that is rare. I have played the other non multiplayer modes since this issue started yesterday and those modes seem fine.

 

I just find it quite bizarre that the issue is affecting the only actual mode I play and enjoy lol. I really like a lot of the changes made so far before the solo update and it was made into a pretty solid Star Wars game. I'm not posting saying "I'm just not going to play for quite awhile" to be annoying. It's my experience when I'm pretty sure my connection isn't at fault that time will fix it. When the game loads to the menu, it does connect to the internet which is the odd thing about multiplayer not finding any matches at all. Thanks for your time for sure!

yeah it's the same here...all online modes will not connect. I only play the heroes one but I've tried them all and it's the same issue for all of the modes.

I contacted EA over the phone...just for the hell of it. He first put me on hold to check with what he called a "specialist" to see what he can do. 

 

He then came back and said that he will email me the steps that he has but multiple people are having this issue and this is the only thing he can do. The steps were basically deleting a bunch of Origin files...this is exactly what I was told 3 weeks ago with the lag issue I mentioned earlier. I did the steps exactly and it didn't fix the issue today. I'm assuming then the game is broke for me and probably a few others. I'm posting this so that others will know what they said.

 

I will note that I do have full confidence that they will figure out the issue but I was sincerely glad to hear that it was more than 3 people lol. As I said previously, time fixes all issues because while I'm not playing and stressing over it there are others working to figure out the problem and being equally or quite possibly even more stressed out than I was lol. Thank you everyone for their time, including EA_Ataashl.

For clarification, error 1,066 means that your matchmaking has timed out, which can be caused by connectivity issues (more common) or missing update files - you won't be able to play if your version of the game is old.

 

Has anyone tried to reinstall the game to solve this problem? Wondering If you're on PC you can try Repair option, but full re-installation might be required. I recommend downloading it via Origin too - this way you'll already get the updated version of the game with no extra downloads.

lmao! all you had to do was post that in the first place!

 

I was apparently missing files from the update and the game seems fixed! I just ran the origin repair option on BF2 and it got to 100%. Then it said "downloading" followed by finalizing and I tried loading a match and lo and behold....FIXED! Thanks a ton Ataashl!
