EA account refuses to link to my Steam account

For some reason, i cannot link my EA account to my Steam account. Recently, i bought Star Wars Battlefront 2 and whenever i try to launch it, the EA BETA sign in pops opens asking to link my EA and Steam account together. Once i enter my information it shows my EA account and Steam account and asks if i want to pair them. When i hit yes, an error message immediately pops up and tells me to go back to steam and try again. I'm in an endless loop with this happening and its extremely annoying. I was wondering if anyone knew why i cant link my accounts.

What happens if you try to link your Steam account via EA Help instead of directly through Steam? This article explains exactly how you can do that:

I tried it via EA help and got the same exact result, the error message still pops up instantly.
