Do i need to buy a PS Plus first before i can play Garden Warfare 2 ?

If you want to play the multiplayer element of the game you would need PS+

For solo play you can play all the game modes by yourself against AI and that wouldn't need PS+. An internet connection would be needed either way.

Just as a heads up. You do need PS Plus, even to get the game going.

One of the main reasons this game was purchased (beyond the fact we loved the first one) was the offline split screen stuff we were supposed to be able to do together.

Start the game with a player id that doesn't have PS Plus? You'll get a message saying "you must connect to the PSN" and the game will not allow you to choose modes, play anything, it will essentially be at a standstill.

If this is something that's supposed to be patched or fixed? I can't wait for that to happen.

If this is working how it's designed, I'm quite disappointed.

PS+ is not required to play, but you do have to be connected to PSN.

Make sure you're signed in by going into Settings > Playstation Network/Account Management.

PS+ you need to join friends or do multiplayer

Internet connection (no PS+) needed to just be in the hub or solo play

I have ps plus and I'm having the same problem

@bodmod when you say "Same issue" what exactly do you mean?  Do you mean you are not able to enter multiplayer or the backyard?  Do you have an internet connection?  Have you tried turning the PS4 totally off and on?

When I start the game it's says I need to be signed in to ps network to continue but I'm signed in and can play any other game but this one

I've restarted, reinstalled, direct connected to router logged out, logged in but the game still does nothing
