Custom Settings Vanish on Second Launch of the Day

★★★★★ Novice

As of a month or a month and a half ago, I'll start the game and there will be no issues.  All of the key layouts I set up when I first started playing this game almost two years ago are there.  Later in the day, if I decide that I want to play again, all of my custom settings (including video, audio, key bindings, etc.) are gone and the game acts as if it's the first time I've launched it.  The next day, when I launch the game, my settings are all back again, but there is nothing I can seem to do to fix the problem when it happens (aside from waiting until the next day to try again).

Thanks! @RysathTyree

I'm thinking if there is a permission issue with windows, normal you get is that it never saves its data.

Try this:

1. Go to Library and find SWBF2
2. Go to settings
3. Find PROFSAVE_tmp and make a copy
4. Name the copy as "PROFSAVE" (Do not include quotation marks)
5. Lastly remove or delete everything except the copy that is named "PROFSAVE"
6. Restart the game and enjoy!

Hey @RysathTyree

Odd, have you had any messaging or prompts from origin while this happening?

Nope. No messages of any kind. I assume you are referring to the message about cloud or local data, though. A repair installation doesn’t have any effect either, which I should have mentioned in my original post.

I should also say that I have reinstalled Origin to try to remedy this issue with no effect.
