Cant launch game from steam after linking Origin with Epic.

Hello there.

I got Battlefront II some time ago on Steam. When it was free in Epic Games store recently I grabbed it as well. Now I can't start the game from Steam. Whenever I click on start in Steam, it would just open Origin and nothing else happens. Origin displays both versions, the one from Epic and the one from Steam. Starting the Steam version from Origin directly won't do anything as well.

Additionally, I noticed a change in the properties of the game displayed in Origin. The Steam version says it was added on 1/23/21 (the date I got the game on Epic), although it should say 11/27/20. It seems like the Epic version has overwritten the Steam version.

I was unable to contact the EA support on mutliple ways, so I'm creating this post. This post claims that the issue is fixed, although it isn't for me.

I would much prefer to start the game via Steam, as that's where I bought it!

Indeed odd. @mehMaddes 

Can you verify the SWBF2 files on Steam and see if that helps. 

Also clear Origin cache to see if that helps.

Yes, I still have the problem. As I said, it seems like the Epic version has overwritten the Steam Version.
