Cache clear didn't help, but I went ahead and cleared app data. Game launched and logged in just fine. Had a 200+ MB update due to the data clear, but I'm back up and running. Thanks for the tips.

For Android 8.0: Settings/General/Apps & Notifications/App Info/Heroes/Storage/Clear Data and/or Clear Cache

Load game over WiFi and let it update.

Hi there, I'm having ththe same issue and haven't been able to log into my account for a few days now. I have tried everything. Reinstall, up to date check, everything.

Please advice, i think i may have been kicked out of my alliance by now!
