Can't buy gems in PVZ Heroes

I'm having some problems in the online store.  I'm trying to buy my sone some gems.  I get the following message.

"Sorry, something has gone wrong with your purchase.  Please reload Plants vs. Zombies Heroes and we will try to recover things for you"

I am able to buy packs, so the store is working, just not gems.

I've updated my IOS and the game is up to date.

I've shut down the phone and tried again, no luck,

It's on an iPhone 6.

Any help would be appreciated.
