Can I make a new EA account and link 2 previously linked accounts? [ Edited ]

Hi, I just wanted clarification on something regarding account linking.

My current EA account has my PS4 account and an old steam account I don't use linked.

From what I understand, unlinking my old steam and linking my new one would not work, because it has already been linked with the platform in the past, right?

So am I able to completely create a new EA account, unlink my current PS4 and Steam accounts from their respective accounts, and link them to the new account. no problem? I am doing this so I can access my items with the new cross-progression in Apex.

Correct on the first question, you'll only be able to link one account of each platform to your EA account over its lifetime.

As progress is stored on the EA account rather than individual platforms, unlinking your PS4 and Steam accounts would cause your content/progress to be lost.

We cannot transfer any progress from one EA account to another, so unfortunately you wouldn't be able to just link these to a new account to move that progress over.

So there is no way to get items back if they were under another account? Is it really cross-progression then...?
