This caused the game to say that it was not installed whenever I tried to play through Origin. Currently reinstalling and massively regretting buying this game.

For me your solution works but the thing i added at the end of the BootOptions file resets everytime I close the game.

Just turn off DX12.

Reinstalled Win10 "RedStone4", downloaded anew SWBFII, I have no DX12 any more in settings.

Same here. It worked, but as soon as I closed the game and opened it again, the game crashed.
I thought it hadn't worked, and I had just been lucky, but then I opened the BootOptions file again and it was reseted. I'll try clicking in "read-only" next time to see if it stops it from resetting.

Hey sir.
Your solution worked for me.
No more freezing, but the game looks different, it's like we turned off the shaders or something.
What does the changes of those txt files did?
Did we turned off something?
Thanks
