Battlefield V Exit Vehicle key binding not working

"Exit Vehicle" appears to still be hard coded to the default "e". I use "ESDF" keybindings and have set ext/enter vehicle as "space". In this configuration I can enter any vehicle, gun turret, etc. with the "space". But if I try to drive the vehicle forward it immediately exits instead. If I try to exit a gun turret I have to press "e" to exit. Checking my keybinding settings it still says "space" for enter/exit.

I know this is a very old post. Did you manage to solve it? I am having the same issue for BF2042.
