Black Screen (No Sound) When Launching From Origin and NVidia. After about 2 minutes, the window closes and returns to origin.
Product: Battlefield V
Platform: PC
Please specify your platform model. Ryzen 5 1600X
AMD or Nvidia Model Number Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080
Enter RAM memory size in GB 16Gb
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? When first launching the game, main menu doesn't even appear.
In which game menu were you when the bug occurred? Launching The Game
Please select your region: North America
When did this happen? 11/22/2018
Summarize your bug: When I launch the game from Origin or GeForce Experience, the BFV program launches and I have windowed black screen with no sound. After about 2-3 minutes, the window closes and returns to Origin. I tried the following:
- Cleared origin cache
- Turned off in game overlay.
- restarted multiple times
- run origin and BFV as admin
- updated windows
- reinstalled latest nvidia drivers
- updated mobo firmware,
- ran dxdiag (No Issues) - Currently using DX12
- uninstalled origin and reinstalled origin,
- uninstalled battlefield V, 2 times
- Repaired battlefield V.
- Uninstalled and Reinstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2015.
- Under Documents > Battlefield V . There is no "settings" folder, so there is no option for me to change the DX12 setting in "PROFSAVE_profile".
The game ran smoothly during the beta. At this point, I am out of ideas.
How often does the bug occur? 100%, I have not had a successful launch of the game.
What should be happening instead? I should be able to actually play the game.

Hey @Aurelius317, thanks for getting back with the information I requested.
Looking at your DxDiag and would you mind seeing if there are any updated drivers for your GPU, I think that the last 1080 driver update was after the 11/11 which is what you have installed.
You will also need to update your Windows, you are running the updated version from April of this year and would need to be running the most recent version.

Hey @Aurelius317, sorry to see that you are having issues.
Would you mind sharing your DxDiag with us so that we can take a look at your system?
In the meantime would you mind trying the following steps:
If it works great, if not can you
If it still is not working can you
If all else fails can you Try another windows user account to see if the game works.
Let me know how you get on.

SOLVED
@EA_Darko Thanks for all your help on this. The issue was that I was still on windows 10, 1803. I upgraded for free to windows 1809 and then BF5 works!
This is the article I used.

PC Issue Solved
Has the same issue (although with sound) following massive BF5, Origin and Nvidia update. Finally found that somehow my screen resolution had been set to 60 Mhz. Returned screen resolution to 50Mhz and all ok - despite the video setting in game being set to 60Mhz which I left there.
