Battlefield 5 failed to connect to EA servers

★★★★ Novice

I have been having issues with this all day I’ve contacted customer support numerous times and nobody can seem to tell me why this keeps happening, it starts the game fine but tells me I have to do user interface update to play online then will not connect. I have wired connection everything is fine I can play any other EA game I want online no problem just not this, please tell me I’m not alone in missing out on the firestorm. I’m on Xbox one x.

I have been trying to play since the launch yesterday and cannot sign into a single match. It just stays at the "Finding Game" timer for ever and then says matchmaking failed, it`s so frustrating. I have been waiting for Firestorm with so much anticipation just to not be able to play!

You’re not the only one. I have the exact same problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled the game, even deleted all saved files and nothing. Been trying to get in touch with ea but seems like they’re not much help according to those who have contacted them..

Hey Battlefield fans,

We're seeing plenty of Xbox One users online and we'll need some specific information to help identify what could be causing this to happen for you. Can you all try the basic steps below to see if you get in and if not, respond back with the following?

  • ISP
  • Region
  • Gamertag

Power Cycle the Console

  1. Turn off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely.
  2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 10 seconds.

Important Be sure to wait 10 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

  1. Plug the console power cable back in.
  2. Press the Xbox button on your console to turn on the Xbox One.

Clear Mac Address

  1. Clear the MAC Address: From the Xbox dashboard select Settings>All Settings>Network>Network Settings>Advanced Settings>Alternate MAC address>Clear, then restart your Xbox.

Reboot the Network

  1. Unplug the modem/router power for about 5 minutes to refresh the network. A fresh connection can help clear up most basic connectivity issues.
