Re: Apex Legends - Crash on Startup or Bad_module fix

★★★ Newbie

Still crashing as well however, I am still getting the event logs with the same "bad_module_info".

Specs

i5-6400
16gb RAM
RX 480 4g

I maintain 120+ fps in game and it runs super smooth but most games within 5-10 mins it crashes straight to desktop.  Fml.

Whatever they did in this patch has made the crashes 10 times worse.  I can't finish a game anymore.

Glad they worked so tirelessly on the console versions, leaving the PC crowd to rot.

Crashing issues after the patch

★★★★ Novice

After the 2/13 patch, my crashes were (almost completely) fixed and I was finally able to enjoy the game properly (before my game would crash if I would survive for long enough in a match or if I would win, the next match crashed). Then I updated my Nvidia drivers and my game started crashing again, so I rolled back and the game was fixed. But after the 2/19 patch, it is worse than before 2/13. I can't even get to the end of a game now, and it is really frustrating. Also I have not made any changes to my drivers or anything else, and I tried everything on the crash fix megathread here on Answers HQ. I would've really liked to just play on the patch before this one. Also, until now, I've been getting no error crashes, now I get "bad module info" crashes, after the game freezes for a bit.

Have you tried installing driver 418.91? Updated latest windows 10 patches? Have you checked you have all the visual c++ libraries 2010, 2012, 2013, 2017 both in x64/x86 latest update? .net framework latest version? Btw there is a bigger topic on bad_Module error please check it

I'll see what I can do. Thanks for the reply.

Edit: I have all the visual C++ libraries updated, the latest .net and I've tried installing the new Nvidia drivers. Nothing worked. Also I didn't find a solution on the bigger topic either. So idk what else to do but wait 'till the yfix the crashes or implementa  reconnect button...

AMD users who crash while dropping, try this workaround

★ Apprentice

A Reddit user posted this workaround and I've tried it for around 10 matches now, and it seems to fix the crash to desktop issue that happens while dropping.

https://old.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/asorsi/to_those_crashing_durring_landing_phase/

Essentially, don't press ANY buttons after you join the game. I didn't even select a character, use push to talk, or even press a mouse button until I landed on the ground and the camera switched to 1st person.

Don't worry about being Jumpmaster either, it seems the game switches the responsibility to someone else if you're "AFK" while selecting a legend. My specs are i5 4570, RX 580 8GB, and 8GB RAM. I don't know if this will work on Nvidia owners too, but if you are crashing while jumping from the plane, try it out.

The only issue is - as I explained on Reddit - every single one of these matches where I survived the dropping phase (which is extremely for me) I crashed later in the game with the "bad_module_info" error on the event manager. These crashes ranged from 3 minutes in while looting to 20 minutes in while fighting the final squad. This further on crash seems to be random, and I don't know if there are totally separate causes for these crashes.

TLDR - Don't press any buttons after joining a server until your perspective switches to 1st person. You might crash later on, however, at random.

Jesus Christ, when the only way to not crash is to literally not play the game... thanks, though, might help some people, but Apex will remain uninstalled until Respawn sorts their *.

The game crashes randomly to desktop during a match, leaving no error code. Sometimes it crashes immediately without freezing. It can happen anytime (early game, midgame, or late game) and in any part of the map . After the recent updates, it crashes more often than before, making it almost unplayable. I also notices that I crash more often when in a party.
