BF1 Weapon Unlock

OK, so in BF1 we all know that to acquire a certain weapon one needs to perform the tasks required to unlock a said item. So that precisely what I have I have done with the "Oberz" Pistol. (At least I think that's how it's spelled) I go to the Weapons and Gadgets to find out that this item is now unlocked, and then I go to my loadout screen on my Soldier to use it as a sidearm. But guess what? It's still locked. I contact EA and all they do is crank out emails with Troubleshooting guides I have been filling out since the conception of EA. So my question is this. Knowing that EA has a very poor support team that doesn't know the difference between code and an algorithm and these type of issues keep popping up time over time with each game they have developed, how do we ever get around these issues to solve them??
