Audio interface crash causes apex legends to crash

★★ Novice

I have a firewire audio interface (focusrite pro 24dsp) which is connected to a firewire pci-e card and has been giving me some trouble recently.

The reason I'm bringing this up here is that when the firewire connection is lost while playing Apex, the game hangs and eventually crashes with an error saying something like "Unable to communicate with the server"

This issue will also occur if the firewire cable gets disconnected during gameplay (I did this while playing the game to verify reproducibility)

Luckily, I have a secondary USB interface that does not seem to cause the same issue and I would assume that using onboard audio will also prevent this issue from occurring. Hopefully this info will come in handy for some people.

I will guess that it is the ASIO drivers of your main setup causing the issue.

Potentially worthwhile increasing the buffer size/latency settings to reduce load and increase stability, especially if you are running with particularly low latency settings.

Thanks.
