Apex freezes... what can i do ?

★★ Apprentice

Hey Everyone,

My game freezes for 1-3 seconds. It does not matter in which situation of the game. But sometimes i can play without these freezes for whole games.
A friend of mine play with his Computer in my Network - without lags, while i have these freezes -> No Internet Problem.

Hardware:

Intel I5 8400 - 6x 2,8 ghz

Prime Z370P Motherboard

16 GB Ram

Radeon RX 580 Graphiccard
Soundblaster Blaster Audigy 5x Sound Card

I tested all Graphic Settings -> change Nothing.

Ive updated my Graphic Drivers & ive installed all Windows 10 Updates. Origin started as Admin. Change many Servers... nothing changed.
Ive cleared my Ram with Intelligent standby list cleaner ISLC - Nothing changed.
Ive deactived my Firewall & Antivirus Software -> Nothing changed.

What can i do? My Hardware istn to bad for that game...!

Your system is more than ok.. I dont know how to give advice because if it is a freeze of 1 second in like 10-15 games i wouldnt mind that much..

If you want:
-provide dxdiag.txt
-ram speed/type/manufacturer/latencies you have set/type of kit (1x16 or 2x8 etc)
-psu specification
-try a hardware monitor to see what is happening with cores/ram/virtual memory used/temperatures

My DXDiag

Not 1 Freeze in 10-15 Matches.

It freezes every 30-45 Seconds for 1-3 Seconds in the most of the games.

The Crucial BX200 SSD has one of the worst Sustained write speeds available.. With a killer mobo like that i would suggest buying a samsung evo nvme drive.. I dont know where you have Apex legend installed but it is likely that your 6000 rpm hitachi drive offers better write speeds though i do not recommend installing apex on it..

To take off load from ssd:
-disable amd shader cache (will stress cpu)
-disable windows page filing/virtual memory (can cause system crash/problems)
-perform a windows drive optimization (trim function)
-make sure the ssd is set to AHCI in the bios

Also
-dont have ram specs but if it is running above 2666 i would set it back to equal or lower
-disable amd crossfire
-disable intel speedstep in the bios
-disable origin overlay

I bought an Samsung 970 EVO SSD with a fresh Windows Installation... same procedure! Freezes nearly in every Game.

Installed all Windows Updates & update all drivers (with Driver Booster 6).

What the hell is going on here ?!

Hey man i see ur bios is somewhat outdated (2017/12/10) can you update your bios? Please update to version 1803

For your samsung nvme. Please install samsung nvme driver (not intel driver)
Go to windows virtual memory and set 16 to 24gb of virtual memory ONLY to your nvme drive, disable it on other drives
Install .net framework 4.8 (default is 4.7)
https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/dotnet-framework/net48
Install all the necessary visual c++ (2010/2012/2013/2017 in 32 and 64 bit)
https://support.microsoft.com/nl-be/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
Try playing Apex without the soundblaster
Try apex by removing the amd rx580 and play on intel hd graphics (maybe their is a power problem)

good luck
