Apex Legends, No longer Exits to Desktop after Latest Update.

After the recent update, My in-game video settings were reset. It was set on borderless window. But upon start it loaded as bordered window with my settings defaulted to all low. After which after fixing my setup.

My game can no longer exit normally. When I click on exit to desktop the game just locks up with the screen blurred and by pressing ESC it remoevs the blur and shows the game menu once more. Clicking on Exit to desktop exhibits the same cycle. Stuck with the current screen blurred and pressing esc reverts you back.

The only way then to exit the game is ALT-F4. (Yes, I already tried a 'Repair' check in Origin, No dice.)

Can you try a Clean Boot restart of your PC and see if you encounter the same issue with the game closing down?

It sounds like something is blocking the final exit UI layer from showing.

I don't know if this helps any, but I have the same issue. However, if you start the game and instantly exit, it seems to work. If you play a match and try to exit, it fails.

I haven't tried this a whole lot, so it could possibly fail sometimes after just starting it, but so far it seems like playing a match is what triggers the exit to fail.

Can you please stop suggesting restarts and driver updates. Everyone always does them, and they dont fix anything.

Same thing here.

Tends to happen after some kind of disconnection to their servers.  I have to task manager kill the game to quit.

I have computer for gaming and I installed new windows right now and same problem

Open SEARCH from Start menu,and write TASK MANAGER,it will pop-up as example three tasks in small window with win 10 pro-the three are Origin-the game-and Edge browser ,press on Apex Legends and choose END TASK,after this i can start the game again without to restart the pc
