Here we go again. I had problems with crashing depending on the patch, tried all the "fixes" and nonsense, but of course nothing worked until I downclocked (in other words crippled) my cpu. Before Season 4 I had to run my cpu (i5 9600kf) 1.31v in order for Apex legends (and only this game, stress test etc) to not crash on 5.0 Ghz. After the Season 4 patch I tried my luck and reverted the cpu to his usual 1.29v 5.2 GHz overclock and Apex worked perfectly with 0 crashes in over 2 months. Now after today's patch was released, even though I changed nothign on my PC as usual, the crashes without error into desktop started agaiin. I can't believe that after more then a year it's a lottery which patch will work and which not...

I just want to say that this issue wasn't fixed with the new patch. As I said in the post above it was fine until the "Bloodhound event" patch, but now I have to keep my cpu crippled until anotehr patch comes out...

★ Guide
@SBN_BeastMode I don’t even get a crash file, that’s how bad my crashes are. I usually get the dxgi device hung/removed error with my gtx1060. It’s the only game that doesn’t work. Really annoying and nothing works. Repairing the game doesn’t work, fresh reinstall doesn’t work, rolling back drivers doesn’t work, updating intel chipset drivers doesn’t work. It’s so baffling how they managed to clear this update through QC

As always another season arrives and with it game crashing to desktop without error as well.

Dont get me wrong I love this game. But this crashing issue is coming back almost every new season ruining any fun in game.

I noticed the issue happens only on high end PC as I have 3 systems in home. I9 9900K RTX2080 /2700x gtx 1080 and ryzen 5 1600AF and gtx 1060 .

Only system not effected is the lowest spec system.

@BennSauna  the "dxgi device hung/removed" error is to lead back to microsoft visual c++.

  • remove all microsoft visual c++ programms from your pc
  • go to microsoft and download both files, vc_redist.x86.exe & vc_redist.x64.exe
  • install both
  • reboot
  • go to origin, right click on apex, repair game

if you do a clean windows install, install vc_redist.x86.exe & vc_redist.x64.exe always first befor you're installing any game.

Yep,

I've just now started to experience crashes again with this "DXGI" error message.

I reverted my overclocks to default 3.6Ghz on my 9900K, as I was experiencing crashes straight to desktop without errors. Now that doesn't happen anymore gladly.

This game is a total trainwreck in terms of stability, since every season patch introduces new (and same) crashes. Last season worked fine.

Hi,

Thanks for feedback. I've reverted my 8700k to 4.7Ghz with temps not exceeding 85C also run default RAM settings. Still same result and crash every other game.

It's not temperature or OC related as I've been running OC settings for the past months without any single crash.

There is something wrong with the code after last update, please sort it out.

85C is very hot for a cpu and will definitely shorten the life span. Invest in a new cooler preferably an AIO cooler.

Considerably new PC (3 months old) with quite decent setup. Tried so many different things that I can't even list them all anymore.

The game keeps crashing, sometimes generating DMP file, sometimes not. Installed fresh OS yesterday due to new SSD NVME Raid0 setup. Nothing else installed, just standard, out of the box OS, drivers, Origin and Apex and guess what ... crash after crash.

Just played the most bizarre ranked game and crashed 3 times in a single game.

Majority of these DMP files are similar to this (right now I have 48 of DMP files in my game folder):

My CPU is Intel i7-9700KF with turbo enabled (up to 5.2GHz) but it never goes above 75°C, yes I did made sure to have proper cooling in place for this when assembling it. None of my PC components is overheating but also no other game is crashing like Apex so maybe game code seriously needs some quality review.
