★★ Guide

I also noticed this morning that, I'm able to play with a different EA Account, just not with my "main".

Since update, 80% of time I crashed during first loading when i start a game (before select any legend). Then, I'm not able to close or access to the window task manager and have to reboot my computer ...

I'm not a pro, but wtf is wrong, every update came with a lot of new issues ..

Re: Apex Legends Crash no error - PC (apex_crash.txt)

Community Manager (retired)

@NeariXz that sounds like a freeze, not a crash. They feel the same to the player (the game suddenly stops working), but they have different underlying causes. For a crash, the software did something "illegal", so the OS tells us what went wrong, and we can write basic information to a log. For a freeze, the software keeps doing the same thing over and over, never making progress, but it doesn't do anything illegal, so the OS and the software don't know that it will never finish, so we don't get any report of what happened.

All that to say, the apex_crash.txt you reported is from an old patch, and that crash bug has already been fixed.

Now, we can still try to figure out what's going on!

I'd recommend running the game in windowed mode and opening task manager next to it, so you can see if your whole system freezes or just Apex.

To run task manager, hit Ctrl+Shift+Esc, make sure to check "more details", and go to the "performance" tab, and select "CPU" on the left (if it's not already there). Then right-click on the CPU graph and choose "Change graph to" then "Logical processors" to see an individual graph for each of your CPU cores. Move this to a side of the screen.

Then, run the game, and switch to windowed mode. I believe you can also add "-sw - width XXX -height XXX" to the command line in your Apex shortcut to force windowed mode at a specific resolution if you can't do this in the game.

If you freeze, see whether task manager also froze, and see what your CPU utilization looks like. The game shouldn't be able to do anything to make the whole system freeze.

You can also redo the experiment with looking at the "GPU" instead of "CPU" in the "Performance" tab to see if the GPU is getting stuck.

@OrioStorm Hey, thanks for your answer. The fact is, when loading screen is freezing, i can't switch to any other tab.. even if it already open / window mode. The game always returns in "main window" and i cant do anything except restarting. I assume this prevents from writing into the crash log.

I assume to not using window/tab when game is open prevents a lot of crash (but not all) ...

the game was running fine for me yesterday, but today it started crashing every game. my 3570k is oc'd to 4.3 ghz.

edit: downclocking my cpu to 4.2 ghz seems to have fixed my crashes.
