Apex Legends; Can we please make Survival Time XP less and Kill XP more

Just got put into a squad where both were partied together and hid in a corner. Guy said, "You get more XP for surviving." The Attachment below is a screenshot of where they were. Names are cut out for privacy reasons, mostly because I sure this would be deleted otherwise. This kind of gameplay is unfair for someone like me who solo queues during the day when none of my friends are on yet.
