I'm experiencing an issue where after launching Apex Legends, the Respawn and EA splash screens appear without sound, then the banner loading icon appears in the bottom right corner of my screen for about a second, then the screen turns black and nothing happens. The program shows CPU and memory use in my task manager, but I can't see anything or do anything, and I have to force close the game.
I have tried everything I can find to resolve this, including:
-clearing temp files
-repairing Easy Anticheat
-repairing Apex Legends
-reinstalling Origin
-reinstalling Apex Legends
-unlinking my Steam account
-running the game in windowed mode
-running the game with the "-quickstart" launch option
-repairing my Visual C++ libraries
-deleting local files in the Saved Games\Respawn\Apex folder
None of this has worked. I still have the same problem.
My hardware is: Core i5 3470 -- Radeon RX 570 8gb -- 8gb RAM

I had the same problem just now. Black screen after the Respawn and EA splash screens appear without sound.
I fixed changing the default speaker and disabling the Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound from settings, looks like something in the sound driver failed... After changing the main speaker the game booted with sound and everything worked fine.

I have the Intel drivers installed, but I'm using the Radeon drivers. Could that be causing the issue? It's never been a problem before.
As I said, I've tried windowed mode but I get the same behavior.

Just double checked this to be sure, and my Radeon is set as the primary graphics controller in the BIOS. I'm going to go ahead and clean out the Intel drivers just in case there's something there.

I tried disabling the integrated graphics and uninstalling the drivers with DDU, but I'm still getting the same problem.
@Konform103 I have all of those VC redistributables installed.
This is extremely frustrating, because I have been playing the game for a week without problems.

Turned off the Origin overlay, which was the only one that was on. I do have a Samsung SSD, but it's older and not compatible with rapid mode. I also let Windows manage my page file size. I've been running the game borderless windowed at 720p just so that it's easier to force quit when I get the lockup.
None of this has helped. Same problem.
Thanks for your persistence.
