Unless OP chimes in to say that it was Acronis, then we can't call it solved. It's impossible so say at this stage if everyone else has the same problem as OP, or myself an the couple of others without Acronis have the same issue as OP.

@SGMRock Yes, that is a good point. The Acronis Active Protection does allow you to do "exclusions" and I just tested adding in the root Anthem folder does the same as disabling. So if you want the active scanning, adding the Anthem folder to exclusions does seem to work.

Just to add a few new words to this issue! Both demos ran fine for me, but now I suddenly experience low FPS!

LOW (1080p):
Fort Tarsis: ~50-60 FPS (I would have expected it to stay steady at 60 FPS but no! When I start moving it drops to 50 FPS)
Freeplay: Jumps between 40 and 60 FPS with lots of stuttering!

LOW (4K):
Fort Tarsis: 30 FPS
Freeplay: 30 FPS when walking on the ground, 60 FPS when looking at the sky!

HIGH (1080p):
Fort Tarsis: ~50-60 FPS (No different that when playing on low)
Freeplay: Jumps between 40 and 60 FPS with lots of stuttering!

HIGH (4K):
Fort Tarsis: 30 FPS
Freeplay: ~30 FPS!

SPECS:
CPU: i7-6700K @ 4.2GHz
RAM: 32 GB
GPU: GTX1080

I know my PC is getting old, especially for 4K resolution, but I don't understand why both Demos ran so smooth when this fails to stay stable 60 FPS even on low and even @ 1080p!

Usage in Fort Tarsis on 4K res @ LOW settings:

CPU: ~50% with the game taking ~35%

GPU: ~55% with the game taking ~55%

And I don't have Acronis Active Protection and nothing in my system, hardware or software, has changed since the public demo... Well, when I noticed the low FPS I did update to the latest Nvidia driver... Didn't help!

There is something really weird going on with the game.

1) In the demo I had the low GPU usage issue really nastily present.

2) After installing the full game yesterday, I first got 95-100% GPU usage and silky smooth 4k with even high.

HOWEVER - I got constantly a FREEZE FRAME crash --> absolutely unplayable.

3) I changed to 1440p and was able to play for the evening in straight.

4) Today when I started, I played for maybe 30 seconds of freeplay and got the first freeze with 1440p.

5) I've played today maybe 5 hours, I've had 3 freezes with 1440p.

Thing is, I constantly have LOW GPU usage now and the game feels choppy. Especially when there's action going on.

I do not have The Acronis Active Protection.

What I have tried to solve the GPU usage issue / freeze frame issue:

- Delete the old AnthemDemo from my user\my documents\bioware -folder
- Delete the current Anthem-folder
- Clean Re-Install of latest nVidia Drivers
- Set Anthem.exe priority to high
- Set nVidia Power Usage to "Prefer Maximum Performance" (easy to forget after driver re-install)
- Set Threaded Optimization ON or OFF from nVidia control panel
- Set PhysX to RTX 2080
- Removed all GPU Overclocks
- Killed all extra processes I can think of
- Tried playing with VSync On / Off (in-game)
- Disabled Origin in-game overlay
- Tried both ON and OFF settings for Anthem and Origin for "disable display scaling on high DPI settings"

None of which help. Here's my dxdiag attached as well.

I too have a similar issue, not FPS related as that seems to be fine and it varies depending on my settings. I'll just link it here and see if any of you have felt the same pain.

Same problem here. Don't have Acronis. Not sure I want to disable McAfee because one game can't seem to perform like all my other games. Specs are:

i7-4790

16gb Ram

GTX1060 6gb

SSD

1440p monitor

It doesn't matter what settings I use I always get similar FPS. I mean going down from Ultra to High should at least net me some FPS gain but nope, nothing.

EDIT: I have RTX 2080 and i7 4770k OC'd to 4.2 GHz
