@FantasyFiR3 @I’m on 3080 and i712700 and it’s intermittent sometimes it’s fine sometimes it’s not. I have just reinstalled windows 10 to try fix the issue. It doesn’t ruin my game play but it’s very annoying they are microstutters no big freeze stutters

Were you on Windows 11 OS before, or just a Windows 10 reinstall?

Running Windows 11

i7 11700

RTX 1080

16GB DDR

1 TB SSD

SB G6 sound

After a repair install of windows 11 my FPS issues seems to have stopped. Still have the TTK/TTD issues but that is another problem!

★★ Guide

@sk1lld I downgraded to windows 10 with exactly the same issues as with windows 11. I don’t really have any fps issues I just have stutter and I don’t know if it’s the EA servers or if it’s my hardware. But the only thing in my pc now is battlefield so I can’t see if being anything else

Got ya.

Part of the stuttering is caused by BF2042 writing the shader cache file to my documents instead of %appdata% where the shader cache belongs. Until DICE corrects this, I'm afraid nothing we can do. This causes excessive read/writes to windows One drive as well as other issues.

@sk1lld @So I don’t even use one drive for this reason and now we can’t even stop it writing! What I don’t get is some people have exactly the same hardware with no stutter.

Anyone that tells you they do not have stuttering in BF2042 is not paying close attention. The game is not very optimized and still needs work.

How big is your cache folder?

I checked mine which is around 950Mb in size, the earliest cache write there is from 14/07. Biggest file in that folder is 7.3MB

NVME drive here on my setup, on the kids one it's a SATA SSD

Cleared my cache already but made minimal difference, thanks for the suggestion. I have one drive enabled by default and prefer to keep it enabled, so have some issues with when BF2042 decides to write to my documents folder.
