APEX legends failed to join to lobby

I use steam as the main platform to play Apex legends,

two of my friends play on EA as their main platform,

we were able to play together before this season's update.

However, when we are trying to join to each other's lobby,

it says we are unable to join the session and the version of our game is different,

we tried fix up method and it doesn't work at all,

so we think about the cross play policy,

but there is no setting options in Steam platform,

is there any options in EA platform or it's just a brand new bug just like before commonly?
