APEX LEGENDS Constant Crashing on PS4

★★★★★ Newbie

The title says it all really, I'm having random crashes either while selecting a hero or at the very beginning of games, every 2-3 games consistently. I'm not sure what I'd triggering the crashing, and none of my friends that I play with seem to be having this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated

PS4 Fat (Old) running software v6.20

The error code I am getting is CE-34878-0

Thanks in advance.

Hey all that error is a PS4 error to say that the software crashed

Restart your console:

  • Turn off your console and then turn it back on.

Make sure your game software is up to date:

  • Go to the PlayStation home screen.
  • Highlight the game you're playing and press the Options button on your controller.
  • Select "Check For Update" and install any updates that are available.

Make sure your PS4's system software has the most recent update:

  • Select Settings at the top of the PlayStation home screen.
  • Choose "System Software Update" and allow any system updates to install.
  • Reboot your PlayStation 4.

Clear your PS4's cache:

The PlayStation 4 doesn't actually have a cache to clear. That said: It never hurts to power down/power up your console if you're encountering performance issues in the console.

  1. Press and hold the PlayStation button on your controller.
  2. Select "Turn Off PS4".
  3. Let the PlayStation 4 to fully power down and wait for 10 to 20 seconds.
  4. Restart the PlayStation 4.

 Uninstall/reinstall your game:

  • So you're still having problems? OK, you maywant to think about uninstalling/reinstalling the game experiencing the error.
    • Before you do this, upload your save game to the cloud (or to a USB storage device). That way you won't lose your progress and have to start over once you've reinstalled.
    • OK, once you're ready to uninstall your game data from the console, follow this guide SCEA put together over at their official site.

Reinstall the original hard drive:

  • This is only if you have upgraded your PS4's hard drive (read: replaced it with a larger one). Sony suggests re-installing the original hard drive that came with the console.

If none of these steps have helped, you should reach out to PlayStation Support.

Maaan same with me, it is just dirty annoying every second to third game I'm getting this application error.
It's just crazy random from the beginning of champ selection to the last seconds of the game it can happen every second.
And my friends have to fight mismatches all the time cause im getting kicked.
They have no problems what so ever so how is it that I'm getting this error and they not.

yeah, I'm getting the same problem but now it's worse. last night I crashed three times in a row and this morning ive had six crashes in one hour. it's hard because I love this game but it's becoming unplayable. but the only connection ive made is that the higher my level the more I crash. maybe its a status tracking thing? more information it tries to hold the more it crashes? I don't know it's just getting annoying now. EA please fix

I keep having Apex completely freeze my PS4 whenever looting death boxes. I end up having to reset my console every time. So irritating.

It’s been out for almost 6 months now and not a single fix or care in the world from EA. This makes me and my boys not wanna play at all. It’s no wonder no one plays anymore since launch. I deleted the app after two weeks because of the trash can state it’s in.
