won't let me play the game without internet connection

I bought the disk version of the Sims 4, installed it through Origin like it says to, and now that I don't have an internet connection it won't let me click on the desktop icon and play. It says I have to be logged into Origin to play, but I was told and read that you didn't have to have internet connection after installing it to play. HELP!!!!

You need to login to Origin in offline mode but you do need to activate it once.

So start the game once with Internet connection and then put Origin in offline mode. You still need to log in to Origin but you can do so in offline mode.
