unable to click objects and sims

my game seems to be working propery but for some reason only in live mode i cant click on objects or sims to have them interact. the objects hghlight when i scroll over them and make a noise like i am clicking on it but no menu with options appears. anyone know how to fix this or what might be going on? thanks

Try rightclicking the game in Origin and click repair.
