for some reason the sims is not working. and it is coming up with an error. So i tried using the mod conflict detector and deleted some custom content, however the error was still there.

Please try to remove them and see if the game works better.
For example, move the mods folder from C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to your Desktop and start the game.
Also right-click the game in Origin and choose Repair game, and it might fix problems with missing game-files.
Merry Christmas!

I have managed to fix the game by deleting a custom content file that was not compatable with the game

Custom content is something that you add yourself, so if you don't know about it then you probably have another issue. Start your own thread and explain your issue and someone will try to help you!
But if you want to know, mods and cc are placed in C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims\Mods
(Might be a little different depending on your computer setup, but something like that)
March 2019
Rightclick the game in Origin Game Library and select repair.

What if I've already repaired and I don't have any custom content but it's still going to be giving me that error?

Hey @hayleyl2007, please do not bump older threads such as this.
If having an issue then please create a new thread with as much info as possible.
