the sims 4 has stopped working

★★ Novice

I downloaded this online from origin almost every time I play the game after 10 - 15 mins or created sims and move to households

the game closes it self and a window pops up and says "Sims 4 has stopped working - a problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem." So I didn't play The Sims 4 for a long time it makes  very difficult to play the game each time.

 PC spec as below:

Microsoft Surface Pro 3
Windows 8.1 : 64bit
Processor : Intel Core i5 : 128GB
System RAM 4Gb
Screen resolution : 2160 x 1440

i tried to Fixed it myself

- offline origin mode.
- repaired
- uninstall the game and then reinstall
- install Direct X 11
- install visual c+++ 2013
- install vcredist_x64
- disable my firewall/antivirus
- deleting some package or mods
- setting resolution : windows full : graphic : all low
- Make a bakeup of the Sims 4 folder located in documents \Electronic Art\the sims 4
  then delete it.

i have tried everything but didn't work, I don't know what to do.

I would love to get some help , thanks

I'm having the same issue. I never had trouble running the game until a few weeks ago, and now every time I try to launch the game, it crashes before even getting to the main menu. So annoying! I've tried all the suggested fixes on here so far, and no luck Frown

I am having the same problem.  It doen't matter if I launch it through Origins or directly from Windows.  I don't get to the main menu.  Considing how expensive this abreviated version of the game is, you would think it would at least work.

Re: the sims 4 has stopped working

First of all, please forgive my English Confusedmileyhappy:

I've been playing perfectly the game for about a week, but since yesterday I can play for a while, and then the game just stops working. I've tried every suggestion, with no luck. Please help!

@tefa_mith I notice a couple of issues. Your running Win 7 32 bit with 8Gb of memory 32 bit will only access 4Gb or memory only. Your video card is a DX10 card. There is no DX10 as a patch from Vista on patches DX10 to DX11. This makes your video card a dx9. This should be ok for Sims 4. Your video driver is way out of date. This needs to be updated and may solve your problem.

add: Windows 7 mainstream support has ended 1/13/2015 and is now on extended support. 23 bit operating are now starting to disappear. Many games are coming out requirement 64 bit. DX12 is starting to come out and Windows 10 is patching to DX12 when you install a DX12 video card. I have not seen a general patch to DX12 yet.
