the sims 3 wont launch

ok so i know it has been answered a lot ,but all the answers don't work for me! even the launcher wont launch! i click on it and nothing happens. nothing pops up on my desktop. even when i put the disk out then put it back in so the autorun can do it but no doesnt work! i dont know what to do. it worked fine yesterday. thats the only way i could play the sims because origin can upgrade so it wont open my sims 4 (which i spent a lot on so im mad) and now it wont open the old sims 3!

i really dont know what to do. i wanna play so bad that it makes me cry that i cant play!

@Roro_ok55  Does your Sims 3 install require Origin to run or not?  (You mentioned using a disc, which is why I ask.)

Start by moving your entire Sims 3 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you open the launcher, if it opens, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Don't add anything to it yet; just see whether you can get far enough to start a new save.  Let me know either way.

If the launcher still won't open, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
