sims roasted fish on campfire,it disappears before they can eat it.

I am playing the sims 4 on a dell inspiron pc with i7. I have all the expansion packs, and game packs and stuff packs. When my sims roast anything at all on the rocks of fire fire pit they sit down at the fire they roast the thing, it disappears from their inventory if it's a fish, and then in the middle of roasting the food disappears and does not reappear in inventory.
