sims 4 won't go on

I have had sims 4 since its uk release date and it has been working ok for the past few weeks, I was playing it last night and it seemed fine but today when I went to continue playing the game would just not switch on at all. I logged into my origin account and sims 4 was there but it was faded and the option to play it was not there. I keep ejected and reinserting the disc but to no avail. Can anyone please explain why this is happening and help me to fix it.

There should be an update. Try right clicking and use check for updates.
