sims 4 will not open, just goes back to origin

hi there i have never posted on a sims 4 help forum, but i am not sure what else to do. my game was running perfectly fine about 2-3 hours ago. i went to download some cc and put it into my game. i tried to open my game and it would not open, it just took me back to the origin app. i thought it might be some of the new cc i had just downloaded so i removed all of it from my game and decided to try and open it again. still didn't work and took me back to the origin app. i tried opening it though the origin app and desktop shortcut and neither worked. i also repaired the game, tried updating it and those didn't work either. also troubleshooted through windows and that didn't work either. plz help

@apeesssss Hey , I'm happy that you found the culprit. Is your game working again? My game is still unplayable , tried all the suggestions.

@godofegypt  If you use mods or custom content, please move the entire Mods folder to the desktop, delete localthumbcache.package, and see whether you can play.

If that doesn't help, or you don't use mods or cc, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
