I am trying to download the sims 4 update but it says my hard drive is full. what files can i delete so that it will work? P.S-I have a windows laptop.

@maisey440  Look in the Downloads folder for any extraneous files: installers for programs you've already installed, .zip files for content you've already extracted and placed elsewhere, etc.

 

As a general rule, it's best to leave at least 25 GB free on the system drive (C, where Windows is installed) for the overall health of your system.  Almost anything can be transferred to a secondary internal drive if your computer has one.  If you truly have more data than can fit on the internal drive(s), it's time to invest in an external storage device.  A 1 TB HDD can cost as little as $40, with SSDs costing more and being unnecessary unless you're going to install applications on them.
