sims 4 update istallation issues

please help me, there is a mandatory update on the sims 4 digital DL and it goes through its update fine, but once it reaches 100% and tries to finalize, it pauses and says "installation failed."  i am not able to play until this update is installed and im getting seriously mad about it.
