SIMS 4 Won't Open

★★★ Newbie

I bought the sims 4 and it downloaded fine until I tried to open it. It won't open and i get this pop up saying: invalid licence. reason code= Missing DLL: [mscvp120.dll] Error: 0x7E

I searched up how to fix it and tried everything, like installing a microsoft thing again like one sudgested, but it still doesn't work.

It has to work.

If you're running 32bit windows, you need to install vcredist_x86 2013.

However, if you're running 64bit windows you need to install both vcredist_x86 and vcredist_x64.

Both you can download here:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784

You don't need to download or install vcredist_arm.

Is windows 32bit or 64bit you can check if you rightclick on (My) Computer then click on Properties, it'll be displayed under System Type.

If however after installing vcredist 2013 running Sims still crashes but now with an addidional error that msvcp100.dll is missing, you also need vcredist 2010 SP1. It's available here:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328 - x86
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=13523 - x64

Install both x86 and x64 if on 64bit windows or only x86 if on 32bit windows.
