sims 4 installed but not able to play

★★★★★ Newbie

it shows installation completed.

When i go into C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\Game\Bin

error message pops up saying ""The game Sims4 does not appear to be istalled. Please install it or relaunch the game""

I restarted my PC and it is still the same.

Im in Singapore so I should be able to start playing.

I reinstalled origin, change my time zone to Singapore time and it downloaded.

Works perfectly.

Can you try restarting your Origin as admin and try to launch from within My Games again?

If it does not, try the following [I feel I should stress that registry modification should only be undertaken if you have an idea of what you are doing. Many things can go wrong]:

Click on your window button. In the search tab type regedit. This should prompt your for a UAC - click yes to authorize it.  The Registry editor will load.

Now look for [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Maxis\The Sims 4

If its not there you should create the key there.  Once created you will need to create the following string values:

“GDFBinary”=”C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\__Installer\GDFBinary_en_US.dll”
“DisplayName”=”The Sims™ 4"
“Locale”=”en_US”
“Install Dir”=”C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 4\”

If this work, make sure to give credit to the user who came up with this fix in the SimCity section::smileyhappy:
