sims 4 game installed but wont let me play

i have had sims 4 on my pc since it came out and have played it many times. tried to play it today and it has asked me to type in my activation code. when i do so it says code is already in use and does not let me play. why is this?

Are you sure you've logged in with the right account ? Does the game still show up in myGames on the Origin client ?
