that definitely doesn't sound right.
Are you using any custom content or mods in your game ? If so, then those can get outdated with patches and cause issues. Make sure you're mods are all updated or remove them from your game.
If you don't, have you tried repairing your game through Origin yet (right click on the game and hit repair game) ?
