"Sims 3 has stopped working"

my sims 3 isn't working when i   tap the icon its just loads but doesn't do anything. then when i go into orgin i tap on the sims 3 but the play button is the lighter shade so i cant play when i tap on it how can i fix this I really want to play.

• Does the launcher start?
• Are you getting any error messages?
• How far do you get, try to describe what happens in as much details as possible (without getting too lenghty)
• Do all installed games show up in the Origin client?
• Which base game version do you have: http://sims3.crinrict.com/en/2014/02/sims-3-base-game-versions.html
• Which Security Software are you using (Firewall, Antivirus)?
• Do you have the disc or download version or a mix?
• Do you have any files with xctp in your documents\electronicarts\thesims3\ folder ? (those are crash logs)?
