my sims 4 completely crashed after saying no internet connection

★ Novice

omg, I'm so glad to see someone else going through this.. I'm new to the forum thing but was advised to by the ea techs since we"ve tried  every trouble shoot possible. 2 days ago mines started out saying that it had no internet connection but started to work again and 24 hours later it completely stopped. before it crashed it also said it had a corrupted file (CC) and to remove it, so I did and it still did nothing. ive been using sims for a long while and I'm just learning about and using cc. but anyways, now it freezes up/crashes at the beginning of the game when the sims logo is displaying and will not load. the techs had me do a dx report which said my graphic driver was outdated. so I downloaded it cas they guaranteed me it would work immediately. but that didn't work. .then  they had me download Revo as well and remove sims and origin and any remnants of them completely off the game and reinstall, and that didn't work either.  after the last attempt by their specialist, they advised me to come here on the forums.  @DarkAmaranth1966 I saw your info on another post.. I don't know if you can help me but I would greatly appreciate it if you did or anybody how do I remove the custom content as much as I love it. but I'm really missing playing. thank u I can attach my dx report

@allntheeyes Please post dxdiag. Are you using any antivirus or similar programs?

@roberta591 just merged a comment on another topic to this one. It has the DxDiag attached to it.

@allntheeyes your comment was attached to your original post.

@allntheeyes The dxdiag looks good - are you using any antivirus or anti malware software? Is it possible your internet is going down? I live far enough out that lose of electric and/or internet may be considered kind of common. Things have improved in the last few years but I haven't sold my generators (yet). My ISP tends to do maintenance whenever they feel like it. To answer the question about internet connection - The game HAS to be activated over the internet - how often the game has to be activated is not told. Updates to the game are done automatically if you are connected. I have Origin installed on this computer but I don't have the game installed and I have to manually start Origin (and Steam). My game computer will start Origin when I start the game. Try the factory reset - factory reset If the game still has issues then the game itself has issues or your computer has an issue with TS4.
