my monitor is going to sleep everytime i try and open sims

The game was working fine yesterday but today when i tried to open it my monitor went to sleep

I contacted ea and the assistant said to clean boot the pc, i did that but its still not working and i dont know what to do there here.

any suggestions would be much appreciated.

@fxthomles Is your computer a pc or mac? What version operating system do you have? If you have a pc please post your computer's dxdiag. Thank you

Also as a test, when your monitor switches off can you try pressing Ctrl & Enter? If you're on Mac you can use Command+Control+F on OS X 10.10.x or later.
