low gpu and cpu usage, as well as low fps on good pc

★★★ Novice

I recently built a new gaming pc, but when i tried running the sims with all packs on ultra settings the fps were pretty disappointing. in worlds like san myshuno, brindleton bay, henford on bagley and on big open lots such as the universities i experienced a lot of lag/stuttering when moving around. I am confused why my pc is having these performance issues, any help would be amazing!

specs:

Gpu: rtx 3060 ti

cpu: i5 11400f

ram: 16 gb (dual channel)

@Plumloup  Please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Please also let me know how the game runs in a new save with no mods or custom content present, as in, move the entire Mods folder to the desktop if there's anything inside it aside from resource.cfg.

@puzzlezaddicti just ran my game without any mods or custom content, and i still experienced the same stuttering/lag. it mostly happens when my sim is on any lot other than their home lot or when i pan the camera while zoomed out quite a bit.

i also attached my dxdiag!

@Plumloup  Your dxdiag shows a couple of Origin errors, so that's where to start.  Please clear Origin's cache and uninstall it "the hard way":

https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/faq/clear-cache-to-fix-problems-with-your-games/

https://help.ea.com/en-us/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/

Reinstall Origin using the full installer (direct download link):

http://download.dm.origin.com/origin/live/OriginSetup.exe

Run the installer as an admin: right-click on the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart your computer afterwards, and run Origin itself as an admin too while you're playing.

If that doesn't help, please set your computer to run Sims 4 in high-performance mode.  Hit Windows key-i, select System > Display > Graphics settings, click Browse, choose TS4_x64.exe from the list, and choose the high-performance option.

Please also let me know what world(s) you tested in and if it makes a difference to play in one of the base game worlds.  It would be best to try a new save since you might have made significant changes in your current one.
